Welcome, and thank you for visiting East Hampshire Counselling. My name is Zeenat Hutchings and I am a counsellor providing both short- and long-term therapy to adult individuals in East Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex and the surrounding areas. I also provide telephone and online counselling remotely for clients across the UK.
Have you had past or recent trauma that is impacting your life now? Then get in touch with me and let us work collaboratively to get you some clarity.
My name is Zeenat Hutchings and I am a person-centred counsellor with a background in Mental Health Nursing. I worked in sexual trauma and recovery, and domestic violence as well as generic counselling. I am empathic, honest and work in a trauma informed manner and offer a calm and confidential space for clients to explore their issues. I am of black/African origin and welcome clients from all backgrounds.
I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - registry number 397876 - and I abide by their code of ethics.
My passion is helping people reach their potential and to achieve their authentic self. I have had personal experience of feeling "lost" and "disconnected" myself and have a level of understanding of how this feels. I myself have had personal therapy and have found the process to be life changing and empowering.
Not only about talking but it is about being heard. It provides a confidential and non-judgemental space to explore your fears, vulnerabilities, strengths, hopes and dreams and be challenged to step out of your comfort zone. It gives you a great opportunity to learn something new about yourself that you may have not have known before. It builds resilience to address past traumas and start your journey towards healing.
Learn that not all our thoughts are facts. Noticing these negative thoughts, talking about them, will help build resilience, self-esteem, confidence and enable you to set healthy boundaries, which in turn will improve your emotional regulation, learn healthier coping strategies, and learn to cope better with life’s challenges and stresses.
Therapy will teach you new skills to enable you to implement small but impactful changes in your life but more importantly you will learn to trust your instincts and believe in yourself more. In the words of Carl Rogers: “I am not perfect but I am enough”.

My ongoing fees are charged at £60 per 50 minute session and this is payable weekly in advance of the meeting.
Please contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
